College. BLAH. There was a point in my life (8th grade?) when I would have given anything to skip high school and go directly to college. I wanted to skip all of the hard parts, and just get on with my REAL life. But now I'm a junior. I have less than two years of being a kid, and then I have to grow up and face the real world. Holy Jesus. Such a terrifying thought.
Next Wednesday, reps from Uni of Chicago are coming to my AP Comp class to give us a little college application seminar. UChicago sends me mail and other cute things all the time. But I've done my research. It costs more than $54K per year. If I did all four years, I will have spent enough to buy the hosue I currently live in. No way in hell can I afford that. But it's literally the perfect school for me. You know how in movies and tv shows, whenever a teen wants to graduate, they always have a plan? The know their college choices and their future careers. And they work their asses off to get what they want, and then they ALWAYS do. But there's no way I'm getting in to/affording UChicago.
I HATE DREAMS.
